Three die in Nadiad after consuming country-made liquor, police to probe the incident

Three persons reportedly died after consuming country-made liquor. Nadiad police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

Victims Yogesh Kumar Kushva, Ravindra Rathod, and Dhanji Chauhan had consumed country-made alcohol sold in Jawahar Nagar, Nadiad on Sunday. Later, their health began to deteriorate, and they were taken to a hospital.

They were then transferred to the Civil Hospital in Nadiad, where they were declared dead.

Around 15 other people are said to have consumed the same liquor from the same shop.

Following the incident, a team comprising DySP, SOG, and LCB rushed to the scene. Nadiad Town Police Inspector M B Bharwad’s team took immediate action and began an investigation. 

Relatives of the deceased, along with other people, gathered at the Civil Hospital and expressed their ire in front of the police, demanding immediate action. There is a call to arrest this bootlegger and take action.

Reportedly, the blood samples of the deceased were sent to Gandhinagar for examination at the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory). The investigation revealed some shocking findings. The report indicated that there was no methyl alcohol in the victims’ blood. 

Notably, the relatives of the deceased are claiming that the consumption of country-made liquor led to their death within minutes.

Further investigation is ongoing and soon the cause of death will be revealed.
