Three dead, over 20 injured as Ahmedabad-Bhilwara bus overturns in Rajasthan

A bus en route Bhilwara from Ahmedabad overturned near Kankroli in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan in the wee hours of Saturday.  The mishap claimed the lives of three passengers and left more than 20 injured, with at least two reported to be in critical condition.  According to preliminary information, the accident occurred around 8.30 am when the bus driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to drowsiness. The bus, which was reportedly speeding at the time, veered off the road and overturned into a ditch.  Eyewitnesses reportedly stated that the vehicle was moving at a high speed on a rough stretch of road. The sudden loss of control caused the bus to topple, triggering chaos among the passengers. Locals and police personnel rushed to the spot and immediately initiated rescue operations.  All injured passengers were shifted to a nearby hospital, while the two critically injured were referred to Udaipur for advanced treatment. Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of the deceased.  The local police have registered a case of negligence against the private bus operator and the driver. An investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.  This incident comes just weeks after a similar crash on April 16 near Majera village on the National Highway in Rajsamand’s Delwara region, which left 37 people injured.
