Three booked for stabbing incident near Vasna college, one hospitalised with neck injuries

Tension gripped the Vasna area of Ahmedabad late on Sunday night after a violent clash near G B Shah College left two men injured, one of them with a serious neck wound.

The incident occurred around 11.45 pm near the open ground adjacent to the Hanumanji temple, opposite the college, the FIR filed at Vasna Police Station states. Dhirendrabhai aka Dhiren Rameshbhai Sargash(31) alleged in the complaint that he and his friend Devshambhai Mukeshbhai Shah were attacked by three men identified as Jilubha Solanki, his associate Shankar Thakor, and his brother Pawan Singh Solanki following an altercation earlier in the evening.

Dhiren stated that he and his friends had gone to a local hotel after Ganpati Visarjan when they ran into Jilubha and Shankar. An argument reportedly broke out over a table, during which the accused allegedly threatened them by claiming links to Pawan Singh. The scuffle subsided, but when Dhiren and his friends later passed by the Hanumanji temple, they were confronted by the same men.

As per preliminary investigation by the police, Jilubha and Shankar started abusing and assaulting us. Soon after, Pawan Singh arrived on a vehicle and joined them. Jilubha stabbed Dhiren on the forehead, while Pawan Singh attacked Devshambhai on the neck with a knife. Both men began bleeding heavily, while the accused fled the spot on their vehicle.

Passers-by rushed the injured to SVP Hospital. While Dhiren received outpatient treatment, Devshambhai was admitted with a neck injury and remains under medical care, though doctors said he is conscious.

Based on the complaint, police have booked the three accused under relevant sections of the BNS, including charges of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation and unlawful assembly. A Vasna police official said, “We have registered the case and have started an investigation, The accused are on the run and efforts are underway to trace them.”
