The wealthy find favour in Gujarat BJP’s reshuffled cabinet, Rivaba Jadeja richest

Ahead of Diwali, the BJP reshuffled the Gujarat cabinet, with wealthy MLAs emerging as clear favourites. Of the 26 ministers, 23 are millionaires, with an average wealth of ₹11.2 crore. 

Education Minister and Jamnagar MLA Rivaba Jadeja, wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, tops the list with assets worth ₹97.35 crore, while Sports Minister Jayram Gamit, is at the bottom of the list at ₹46.96 lakh.

Female representation remains low, with only three women ministers and none in the cabinet. Eighteen ministers have outstanding debts, including Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi (₹8 crore) and Purushottam Solanki (₹8.93 crore).

In terms of education, six ministers have studied up to 8th or 12th grade, 16 hold graduate or higher degrees, and four have diplomas. Age-wise, 10 ministers are between 31 and 50 years, 15 are 51–70, and one is 71.

Several ministers face criminal cases, including Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, Rishikesh Patel, Arjun Modhwadia, and Purushottam Solanki, who is booked for a serious offence.
