A 52-year-old businessman from Thaltej has complained to the Vastrapur police alleging that a group of youths, three men and two women, engaged in obscene acts on the bench of his housing society and abused him when he objected.

As per the FIR filed by Bhavinbhai Trilokbhai Patel, a resident of Sun Star Society near Gulab Tower Road, Thaltej, the incident took place about four months ago, around 3 am, when Patel returned home on a Rapido bike after work.

Patel, who runs a garment business named N B Enterprises from his residence alleged that upon arrival, he saw three unknown men, aged between 25 and 27, and two women, aged between 20 and 27, sitting on the bench of his society and “kissing each other in public”.

When he confronted them and asked them to leave, one of the men reportedly told him that they lived in a paying guest accommodation (PG) at Krishna Flats next to the society and had the right to sit there. “When I refused to allow them to sit on our society’s bench, they started arguing and abusing me,” Patel alleged in his complaint.

The complainant added that he immediately called the PG owner, identified as Charuben Khokhara, and informed her about the objectionable conduct of the boys and girls living in her property. Although she assured him of action, Patel claimed the issue persisted as the group continued to frequent the society premises.

Despite repeated complaints to the PG owner, no resolution was reached, prompting Patel to approach the police. He alleged that the five youths not only misbehaved with him but also indulged in indecent acts in a residential area, causing nuisance and distress to society residents.

Based on his statement, the Vastrapur police have registered a case under sections of obscene acts and abusive behaviour in public places.

Patel has requested police intervention to identify the accused youths from the nearby PG accommodation and take appropriate legal action. He has also cited the members of the Sun Star Society as witnesses to the incident.‎
