TET-1 exam on December 14: New rules, revised timings, and updated syllabus

The Gujarat State Examination Board has announced that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET-1) for recruitment in primary schools (Classes 1 to 5) will be held on December 14. A detailed notification has been issued outlining the new rules, registration dates, and exam pattern.
Application and fee payment schedule
- Online application begins: October 29
- Last date for application: November 12
- Last date for fee payment (via net banking): November 14
The exam fee has been set at ₹250 for reserved-category candidates and ₹350 for general-category candidates.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for TET-1, candidates must have at least passed Class 12 along with one of the following qualifications:
- Two-year Primary Teaching Certificate (PTC)
- Four-year Degree in Elementary Education
- Two-year Diploma in Education
New format
The TET-1 exam will be conducted in a multiple-choice objective format, featuring 150 questions. Candidates will have 120 minutes to complete the test.
The exam is a crucial requirement for those aspiring to become primary school teachers across the state.
