Temperatures rise in Gujarat mid-February, Deesa records highest of 35°C

Heat level continued to rise across Gujarat on Sunday, with eight cities, including Ahmedabad, recording maximum temperatures above 34°C. The increasing daytime heat, coupled with cooler nights, has created mixed weather conditions in several parts of the state.

​The highest temperature of the day was recorded in Deesa at 35.8°C. Other cities also reported high temperatures, including Rajkot at 35.3°C, Kandla at 35.2°C, Vadodara at 34.9°C, Amreli at 34.7°C, and Surat at 34.0°C.

​In Ahmedabad, the average maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C, which is three degrees above normal in this month. According to the meteorological department, the temperature in the city is expected to hover around 34°C for the next three days. Weather experts have indicated that the heat may intensify further after February 21.  

Despite the rising daytime temperatures, nights remain relatively cool. Ahmedabad recorded an average minimum temperature of 15.5°C on Saturday night, maintaining the mixed seasonal pattern of warm days and cool nights.

Other cities reporting high temperatures include Porbandar 33.9°C, Gandhinagar 33.5°C, and Bhavnagar 32.8°C.
