The main accused in the murder of a 15-year-old girl, whose body was found in the Narimanpura Canal near Sarkhej, has been arrested by the Sarkhej police.

According to the initial investigation, the accused had trapped the minor girl in a love affair. When the girl began pressuring him to marry her, he allegedly planned to kill her.

A few days ago, the girl’s body was discovered in the Nariman Canal. She had been attacked with a sharp weapon on her neck, and her head was smashed with a stone to ensure her death and destroy evidence. Following the discovery, Sarkhej police registered a case of murder.

Inspector S A Gohil, based on technical analysis and tip-offs, arrested Hitesh Thakor, who during interrogation revealed that the main accused, Ajay Thakor, was in a relationship with the girl. He had established physical relations with her multiple times. When she began insisting on marriage, Ajay decided to get rid of her.

As part of a premeditated plan, Ajay took the girl in an autorickshaw with the help of Hitesh. During the incident, Hitesh held the girl’s hands while Ajay slit her throat with a knife. The accused then crushed her head with a stone to erase evidence and dumped her body into the canal.

Sarkhej police have launched a detailed investigation into the case.
