Teachers accused of sexual assault in Sabarkantha, Amreli

Gujarat is often seen as a ‘safe state’ in India. However, with increasing number of sexual abuse and rape cases being reported in the state, that tag is fast getting eroded.

After a teacher in Amreli’s Vanda area sodomised a male student, another report of a teacher in Himmatnagar sexually assaulting a teenage girl has come to light.

The accused teacher in Sabarkantha lured the girl under the pretense of cutting a birthday cake and took her to a guesthouse on Idar Road in Sabarkantha where he sexually assaulted her. 

The incident came to light after the girl’s parents filed a complaint, causing a major uproar.  

As per reports, the victim is a class 10 student, and the accused is an English and Sanskrit teacher at her school. Under the false pretense of celebrating her birthday, he took her to a guesthouse and assaulted her for two hours, leaving her in distress. The girl’s health deteriorated, and later, the teacher abandoned her at the civil hospital before fleeing.  

Following the complaint, the police have registered a case and initiated legal proceedings to apprehend the accused teacher. 

Amreli teacher rapes male student

Reports emerged on Wednesday about a teacher from a private school in the Vanda area of Savarkundla taluka, Amreli, committing a shameful act. A complaint of sexual assault and an unnatural act has been registered at the Vanda police station.  

The accused, Vishal Savaliya, worked as a hostel warden and was responsible for the sports and general department of the private school. He lived in a room opposite the hostel and would call the student to his room to commit the crime.  

The incident occurred on February 5 and later the student began experiencing pain in his lower back. 

When the family visited the hostel to bring him food, they noticed he had a fever and took him home. It was then that the student revealed the horrifying incident to his family, leading to the revelation of the entire case.
