Tathya Patel granted regular bail from Supreme Court in ISKCON bridge accident case

Tathya Patel, main accused in the ISKCON bridge accident that took nine lives on the night of July 19, 2023, was granted regular bail by the Supreme Court.
Patel, who was driving a Jaguar and ran over people who had gathered on the road to help with another accident, will now be released from jail on regular bail after serving almost three and a half years in prison.
A case was reportedly registered against Tathya Patel and his father Pragnesh Patel under sections including IPC 279, 337, 338, 304, 308 and the Motor Vehicle Act.
Patel’s lawyer confirmed that he has been granted bail. It is worth mentioning that earlier in February, the Supreme Court, keeping in mind the seriousness of the case, had strictly instructed the trial court to examine about 25 witnesses by May.
Amid that process, the bail granted by the Supreme Court is a major twist in the case. The trial court is currently conducting regular legal proceedings and hearings in this case.
