Updated: Mar 6th, 2024

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to organise a clean society league competition, a “Swachh League” to promote greener and cleaner residential areas in the 48 wards of the city.

The competition will be held under the Swachh Survekshan 2024, and the decision was made during AMC’s health committee meeting.

Swachh League: Participation and awards

Slated to be organised over six months, the societies will have to register for the league in their respective wards. The competition will be held in three stages- ward, zone, and city-level. A clean ward competition will also be organised to determine the winners on zone and city levels.

To participate, every society has to form its sanitation committee. AMC will conduct awareness seminars along with parameter-wise assessments of each society. Final scores will be awarded based on the cleanliness of the premises at the time of assessment.

All societies participating in the competition will be given participation certificates and memorabilia. The winners will be awarded separately.

A competition will also be held to encourage the cleaning staff of AMC working towards making the city clean.

Who can participate in the 'Swachh League' competition?

Tenements, bungalows, society apartments, flats, highrise buildings with more than fifty houses; housing societies with hundred or more houses, and pol areas can participate in the ‘Swachh League’.
