Suspended Anand additional collector Ketki Vyas charged with disproportionate asset case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Ketki Vyas, former Additional Collector of Anand and a senior-scale Gujarat Administrative Service (Class-I) officer, who is currently under suspension.
The case was registered following a preliminary inquiry conducted by ACB officials into Vyas's assets and financial dealings during the check period from April 1, 2012, to March 31, 2023.
The inquiry was supervised by senior ACB officers and focused on whether her known sources of income matched the assets accumulated during her tenure as a public servant.
According to the ACB, the investigation revealed that Vyas allegedly amassed assets worth ₹3.56 crore disproportionate to her known lawful income. The agency stated that the alleged excess wealth amounts to 68.84% more than her legitimate earnings during the check period.
The ACB alleged that Vyas misused her official position and accumulated wealth through illegal means, subsequently investing the proceeds in movable and immovable properties in her own name and in the names of family members and associates.
Based on the findings, the ACB has registered an offence under Sections 13(1)(e) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, along with Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the amended Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
The case has been lodged at the Ahmedabad ACB Police Station. Further investigation has been entrusted to senior ACB officials under the supervision of the Deputy Director, ACB Ahmedabad.
The bureau has also appealed to citizens to provide information regarding disproportionate or benami properties allegedly owned by public servants across government departments. Such information may relate to agricultural land, plots, houses, offices, shops, vehicles, bank lockers, bank accounts, or other assets held directly or through proxies.
The ACB further urged the public to report any instances of illegal bribery demands by government officials through its toll-free helpline 1064, designated phone numbers, email, WhatsApp, or by visiting ACB offices in person.
