Surat’s fake degree network expands; 18 mark sheets held

In the fake university mark sheet and certificate case in Surat, Utran police seized 18 more such mark sheets belonging to two universities based in Madhya Pradesh on Mar 30.
Police questioned four students related to this case and landed upon marksheets from Bhopal’s Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan University and Indore’s Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University.
All four students had created fake mark sheets to go abroad; however, they have not moved yet.
All of the mark sheets were found to be for BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) and BCom (Bachelor of Commerce) degrees.
Meanwhile, it has been learned that two teams of Utran police have been dispatched to Bihar and Delhi after a connection to the racket was discovered in these areas.

Moreover, police have obtained a six-day remand for the three accused nabbed in this case.
After a massive nexus was unearthed in Singanpor, Surat police raided iTrust Overseas Consultancy, located in Utran, and Aarambh Education in Sarthana Jakatnaka, and seized fake mark sheets and degree certificates from various universities and education boards across the country, including Gujarat.
Police nabbed Dhruvin Kothiya, Vishal Tejani, and Sanjay Gelani, accused of fabricating fake mark sheets.
Meanwhile, the cops have declared Canada resident Nilkanth Devani, UK resident Boni Tala, and his brother Vaibhav Tala, who lives in Kapodra, as wanted in this case.
Authorities also confiscated laptops and mobiles, among other goods, worth ₹65,000 to ₹1.5 lakh.
