Surat police arrest man for sexually assaulting 3-year-old girl

In an incident that has shocked the residents of Saroli in Surat, a 3-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man. The police have registered a case against the alleged perpetrator, identified as  Mojabbir Mohammad Hasamudin, and arrested him.

The case concerns a daily wage family  living in Krishna Park Industrial Estate behind Nature Valley Homes in Saroli area. The father had gone for manual work in the afternoon. When the mother stepped out to call her husband for lunch, the girl was alone at the time and went to the bathroom.

At that moment, Mojabbir Mohammad Hasamuddin, a native of Bihar who lived next door, climbed onto the roof and then got into the bathroom and  sexually assaulted her, the complaint states.

On her return, the child’s mother caught the pervert red-handed, and screamed. Hearing her screams, people nearby gathered and caught the accused. As a ritualistic public punishment, he was made to eat fenugreek seeds, and then handed over to the police.

The Saroli police have registered a case of rape against Mojabbir Mohammad Hasamudin based on the complaint of the victim's family. 

This is not the first time such a thing has happened in Saroli. Earlier, a migrant youth had raped a minor girl, which has caused a lot of anger among the residents.
