A tragic road accident took place on the outskirts of Bhoriya village in Ambika taluka of Surat on Sunday where three members of the same family lost their lives after their motorcycle was hit by a car. The incident happened when they were returning home after attending a wedding.

According to reports, Ashish Patel (31), his wife Parulben (29), their young son Ved, and his 60-year-old mother Ushaben had gone to a wedding in Pati village. All four were coming back home to Samba village.

While they were on the Valvada-Bhoriya road near a brick kiln, a speeding car coming from the opposite side hit their motorcycle. The impact of the crash was so strong that Ashish, his wife, and his mother died on the spot. Their 6-year-old son Ved was seriously injured and was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses said the accident was very horrifying. One of the women was thrown almost 15 feet into the air and fell near a brick kiln.

Locals gathered at the site and nabbed the driver. The agitated crowd allegedly beat him up and did not allow the car to be moved even after the police had arrived.

The police have registered a case and launched a probe against the driver.
