A disturbing incident of superstition was reported outside a private hospital in Chhotaudepur after a patient’s death, where the deceased’s relatives performed rituals with a faith healer in an attempt to bring back or retrieve the soul.

According to sources, the patient, a resident of a nearby village, had died during treatment at a private hospital two days ago. Soon after, family members called a priest and conducted a ritual outside the hospital premises.

The faith healer reportedly performed the ritual for several hours, attracting a large crowd near the hospital gate. The incident created panic among patients and attendants present at the hospital.

Despite ongoing government efforts to curb superstition, such practices continue to persist in parts of the district. The incident has raised questions over public awareness and the lack of timely intervention by authorities.
