Stone-pelting clash in Vejalpur after alleged harassment of young woman; police intervene swiftly

Tension flared in the Vejalpur police station limits on Thursday evening after two groups clashed near Noor Mohammad Park in Juhapura–Fatehwadi, pelting stones and attacking each other with sticks following an alleged incident of harassment of a young woman.
According to preliminary information, members of the two groups confronted each other over a dispute stemming from a previous quarrel involving the alleged harassment, which had occurred around two months ago and was said to have been settled at the time. However, tempers reignited, leading to a violent face-off.
Eyewitnesses claimed that stones were hurled from both sides and some individuals used wooden sticks during the altercation. A local woman, identified as Aminaben, alleged that one of the men also brandished a revolver during the commotion, though police said this claim is under verification.
Police officials added that despite the intensity of the stone-pelting, no major injuries or casualties were reported. A group of around 10 to 15 men, including Imran Bharamni and Qurban Bharamni, has been accused of initiating the attack.
Upon receiving information, teams from Vejalpur police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Officers have begun legal proceedings and further investigation is underway to identify all those involved and verify the allegations.
