State govt to buy directly from farmers at MSP this Ravi season

In an important decision for the farmers this Ravi Marketing Season (RMS), the government of Gujarat announced the direct purchase from the farmers at the minimum support price (MSP).
Kunvarji Bavaliya, the minister of state for food and civil supply, announced in Gandhinagar today that these prices have been fixed by the Central government.
Moreover, to encourage the farmers, the state government has also announced a bonus of ₹300 per quintal for the purchase of bajra and jowar.
Farmers who wish to sell at the MSP fixed by the central government have to register online on the FPP (Farmers Procurement Portal) of the state government.
- Wheat per quintal at ₹2,275
- Bajra per quintal at ₹2,500
- Jowar (Hybrid) per quintal at ₹3,180
- Jowar (Maldandi) per quintal at ₹3,225
- Maize per quintal at ₹2,090
Purchases will be made from a total of 196 shopping centres/ godowns in the state. Farmers have to submit the following necessary supporting evidence for registration.
- Copy of Aadhaar card.
- Last copy of village sample 7-12 and 8-A.
- If there is no record of crop sowing in village sample 12, an advanced specimen of crop sowing with stamp/signature of Talati, if there is no record of crop sowing in village sample 12, an advanced specimen of crop sowing with stamp/signature of Talati.
- Copy of the first page of the bank passbook of the holder or copy of the cancelled cheque.
The quantity will be purchased only through biometric authentication with the Aadhaar card of the farmer.
For this, farmers will be able to register online from Feb 27 to Mar 31 through VCE at the village level and at the godowns of the Civil Supplies Corporation at the taluka level.
