Two agencies, Yahoo Enterprises and Yash Enterprises, have been given the contract for boating activities at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.

As both agencies failed to pay the rent, the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) seized their properties to recover the rent amount.

Yahoo Enterprise owes ₹59 lakh of rent, while Yash Enterprise owes ₹13.70 lakh to the SRFDCL.

Gomtipur corporator Iqbal Shaikh inquired regarding the performance given to the contractors for boating activities on the riverfront.

The SRFDCL leased the riverfront to Yahoo Enterprise for five years at a rent of ₹99.99 lakh, and Yash Entertainment has been given a boating contract for five years at ₹23.23 lakh.

Moreover, a notice has been given to both agencies to not use the boats without the permission of the riverfront authority.

Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd. (SRFDCL), which functions under the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), stopped the boating activities following the incident of a Harni Lake boat capsizing in Vadodara.
