Speeding dumper hits car on SG Highway, family onboard escapes narrowly

A major accident was reported late at night on the SG Highway in Ahmedabad, where a speeding dumper rammed into a car from behind near Rajpath Club. The impact was severe enough to push the car onto the road divider, leaving it badly damaged. However, the family travelling in the car escaped without injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, the dumper was travelling at high speed from Pakwan Crossroads towards the Iskcon Bridge when the driver lost control and struck the car. The collision led to debris scattering on the highway and caused traffic congestion as people gathered at the scene.

Eyewitnesses also alleged that despite police presence at the spot, traffic police stated they had not yet received any official information about the incident. No formal complaint had been registered at the time of reporting.

The incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving by heavy vehicles on the SG Highway, especially during late-night hours, and the enforcement of traffic regulations on one of the city’s busiest roads.
