Speeding driver arrested for hit-and-run that injured 2 pedestrians in Bopal

Bopal police have arrested a youth for ramming his car into two pedestrians near the Marigold area in Bopal, causing them serious injuries. The accused, identified as Hardiksinh Vaghela, a resident of Dabhoi, was employed at a hardware company in Bopal.

The incident occurred on April 19 when two friends from Maharashtra, who were in the city to celebrate a birthday, were walking near Bopal after the celebration. An unidentified speeding car struck both of them, leaving them grievously injured, and fleeing the spot. CCTV footage of the incident, which surfaced soon after, played a crucial role in tracing the vehicle and identifying the driver.

Following a thorough investigation based on the footage, Bopal police tracked down the accused. It was revealed that Vaghela was returning home from work at the time of the accident. Instead of stopping to help, he fled the scene immediately after hitting the victims.

A case was registered against him, and he has now been arrested. The car involved in the accident has also been seized. Speaking on the development, DySP Tapan Singh Dodiya of Ahmedabad Rural stated that the police acted efficiently in identifying and apprehending the accused based on technical evidence and CCTV analysis.
