Speeding car rams two scooters in Ahmedabad’s Kubernagar, three injured

A speeding car driver rammed into two scooters near the Bungalow area of Kubernagar on Sunday evening, leaving three people injured in a crash that was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media.

Video shows man trapped on bonnet

The videos circulating online show the impact of the collision, with one of the victims seen clinging to the car’s bonnet as the vehicle came to a halt.

According to the G Division Traffic Police, the incident took place on the road leading from the Bungalow area towards Sajpur–Bogha. Vishal Ashokbhai Motwani was riding his Activa scooter when the speeding car first hit him and then struck another scooter carrying Hemantbhai Lalvani and Jaybhai. All three sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Driver caught by locals

Eyewitnesses said that after the collision, residents of the area quickly gathered and overpowered the driver, handing him over to the police. He was identified as Bharat Shah, a resident of Shahibaug and employed as a driver with a trust in Navrangpura.

During a search of the car, police recovered two spray cans and a bottle containing a yellow liquid, which have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis.

The G Division Traffic Police have registered a case against Bharat Shah and launched further investigation into the cause of the crash.
