Special counters for Rakshabandhan rush at Gujarat post offices

With just a few days left for Rakshabandhan, post offices across the state have set up special counters to manage the rush and ensure that rakhis reach their brothers on time.
Special 24x7 rakhi booking counters have been set up at Shahibaug Speed Post Centre, the National Sorting Hub, Ahmedabad, and in major cities including Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara.
Last year, Gujarat Post Office sent over 6 lakh rakhis were posted across India and even to countries around the world.
North Gujarat Postmaster General Krushna Yadav stated that ahead of the festival, specially designed coloured envelopes are being prepared. Four unique designs are available this year, and the envelopes are also waterproof to ensure safe delivery.
The cost of sending a rakhi through the post is ₹30 for up to 20 grams. With tracking, the price rises to ₹218.
In addition, international tracked packet services have been arranged to deliver rakhis to 46 countries. Under this service, parcels of up to 5 kg can be sent abroad.
