Snake Rescued After Being Rendered Unconscious by Chemical Water in Vapi

A five-foot snake found unconscious after drinking chemical-laced water at an IGCL company’s ETP plant in Vapi was revived with CPR by an animal welfare volunteer.

Snake Found Unconscious in ETP Tank

The incident took place on Friday at the IGCL company in the first phase of Vapi GIDC. A five-foot-long snake had entered the company’s Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and fallen into a water tank.

After drinking the chemical-laced water, the snake became unconscious, causing concern among company officials. They contacted animal welfare volunteer Sanjay Pawar for help.

Two Minutes of CPR Revived Snake

Pawar removed the unconscious snake from the tank and began efforts to revive it. He administered artificial respiration, or CPR, for nearly two minutes.

The efforts eventually proved successful, with the snake regaining consciousness. It was later taken to a safe location and released into the forest.

Two Cobras Also Rescued in Vapi

Pawar said the snake had likely become unconscious after consuming the chemical-contaminated water in the tank. He also said people bitten by such snakes should seek medical treatment promptly.

On Friday, Pawar and his team also rescued two cobras from separate locations — an open plot near the Chalna Bhathala party plot and a company premises in Vapi’s Daman Ganga Industrial Park.
