SMC seizes MD worth ₹9.79 lakh in Ahmedabad’s Juhapura, two arrested

The State Monitoring Cell (SMC) raided a location near Blue Water Tower on Juhapura-Sarkhej Road late Saturday night. Acting on a tip-off, the team arrested two individuals, a drug supplier and the receiver, and seized MD drugs worth ₹9.79 lakh.
The prime accused, identified as Altaf Sheikh, was reportedly sourcing MD from Rajasthan through a supplier named Mama and distributing it across Ahmedabad. The second individual was present to collect the consignment.
The SMC team had laid a trap after receiving intelligence that a drug exchange was planned in an open plot near the residential complex. Two SUVs arrived at the location, and the suspects were caught red-handed during the transaction.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the broader drug network operating between Rajasthan and Gujarat, and further arrests likely.
