Six killed in two separate accidents in Mehsana

Two tragic incidents were reported from Gujarat’s Mehsana, killing six people including children.
In the first incident, three family members, a woman, her daughter, and granddaughter lost their lives after jumping into a canal.
The deceased have been identified as Sangeethaben Prajapati, her daughter Neha, and her two-year-old grand-daughter. Their bodies were recovered from the canal on the morning of June 4, following which Kalol police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies for postmortem examination.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that prolonged family-related mental harassment may have played a role in the alleged suicide.
During the investigation, officials also came across a social media post allegedly shared by Neha before her death. In the post, Neha reportedly cited constant mental harassment at home and made serious allegations against family members.
In a separate incident, three children lost their lives while attempting to cross a railway track. A goods train struck all three, killing them on the spot.
The children identified as Jignesh Hamirji Thakor, Maulik Fatehsinh Thakor, and Yuvraj Ranjit Thakor, all teenagers.
