Six killed, 28 injured after pickup van overturns in Valsad’s Kaprada

A tragic road accident claimed six lives and left 28 others injured in Valsad’s Kaprada taluka on Tuesday, after a pickup van carrying guests returning from a gathering overturned.

The incident occurred in Virkshetra village when the vehicle, climbing an uphill stretch, reportedly began rolling backwards after suffering a brake failure. The driver lost control as the van reversed uncontrollably and eventually overturned.

Police said the impact of the crash was severe, resulting in the deaths of six passengers on the spot. At least 28 others sustained injuries, with around 10 reported to be in critical condition.

Locals rushed to the scene immediately after the accident and initiated rescue efforts before emergency services arrived. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities said further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
