During the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign for voter list correction in Gujarat, discrepancies have been found in the names of more than 3.75 lakh voters in just one day. These include names of deceased persons, voters not found at their registered address, those who have permanently migrated, and duplicate entries.
The SIR process has reached its final stage. Until December 5, officials had identified 17 lakh deceased voters in the state. Today, that figure has increased to 17.30 lakh — an addition of 30,000 more deceased voters.
Similarly, the number of voters not found at their given address has crossed 7 lakh, with an increase of 85,000 in just one day.
Meanwhile, the count of voters who have permanently migrated from their registered address has risen by 2.52 lakh, taking the total to 32.52 lakh. Duplicate voter entries have also increased by 8,000, reaching a total of 3.36 lakh.
Altogether, the number of voters with these four categories of discrepancies has reached 60.18 lakh.
