In yet another dubious affair involving Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) officials, over 100 officials, including the Municipal Corporation’s chief accountant, Amish Shah, and the municipal additional health officer, Dr Bhavin Joshi, have been issued a show-cause notice for not submitting property return declaration information.

Dariyapur corporator Nirav Bakshi exposed this issue after seeking the information of the officials who served show-cause notices. 

It was revealed that out of over 270 class I and class II officials working in AMC, only a few submitted their property return declarations for 2023-24.

Every year, class I and class II AMC officials are required to file property returns on a timely basis. A circular for the same has been sent by the municipal commissioner.

The main defaulters hold top ranks, including deputy city engineers, chief accountants, deputy health officers, medical officers, and other estate officers.
