The issue of paying guests has once again come to the fore in Ahmedabad, with residents of Orchid Valley Apartment in Shela filing a complaint against PG tenants at Bopal Police Station.
The society members alleged that the PG tenants often created disturbances. According to the complaint, some boys living as PGs misbehaved with women and girls in the society. Members also stated that the tenants used amenities such as the swimming pool late at night and played loud music in the gym, disrupting the peace of the residents.
The complaint further mentioned that in E Block on the 5th floor, one flat was converted into a company guest house. The rent agreement is in the name of a single person, but multiple people enter and leave the flat.
Additionally, in the same block on the 14th floor, a rent agreement has been made in the name of three persons, but 5-7 people are reportedly staying there, including three girls living as PG tenants. This has led to frequent movement of outsiders in and out of the society, causing inconvenience to residents.
The members also alleged that in I Block on the 6th floor, four youths are staying, while on the 14th floor of the same block, another group of PG tenants resides. When society members complained about the nuisance, they were allegedly threatened by these tenants.
Police have registered the complaint and initiated an investigation into the matter.
