The road from Shastri Bridge to Pirana in Ahmedabad has been closed for the next 11 months due to critical repair work. The four-kilometre stretch between Vishala Circle and Pirana crossroads will remain closed to heavy, medium, and passenger vehicles.

According to authorities, the bearings and pedestals of Shastri Bridge are in a severely deteriorated condition, making it unsafe for heavy vehicular movement. As a result, extensive repair work will be carried out on the bridge.

During the repair period, motorists will be required to follow diversion routes. Vehicles coming from Lambha-Jashodanagar will be diverted from Pirana Junction towards the dumping site, via Behrampura, Ambedkar Bridge, and Anjali crossroads to reach Vasna-Vishala.

Vehicles approaching from Sarkhej-Juhapura will be diverted via Anjali crossroads, Ambedkar Bridge, and Calico Mill towards Pirana.

Traffic police have announced special traffic arrangements, including deployment of staff, and vehicles will not be allowed to cross the bridge at night to ensure safety.
