Shahibaug Underbridge to remain closed till Jan 28 due to bullet train work

Construction work on the Sabarmati-Vatva stretch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is progressing well. Segment installation will begin on the pillars of the underbridge.
Owing to this work, the Shahibaug underbridge will remain closed for vehicular traffic from January 23 to 28.
At the underbridge, pillars have already been erected, and segments will be installed on top of them. For this, restrictions have been imposed on vehicular movement at the underbridge for six days.
- As part of the traffic diversion plan, vehicles coming from Delhi Darwaza and Subhash Bridge and heading towards the airport or Gandhinagar will be diverted via Shahibaug Shilalekh Flat, Riverfront road and Dufnala towards the airport.
- Similarly, vehicles coming from the airport or Gandhinagar side will be able to use the Riverfront road via Dufnala and proceed towards different destinations.
- Traffic from Asarwa, Girdharnagar, Delhi Darwaza and Kalupur heading towards main city routes will be diverted via Shahibaug using the Mahapragyaji Bridge.
- Vehicles coming from Girdharnagar and Asarwa and heading towards Gandhinagar or the airport will be diverted via Shahibaug Gayatri Mandir, Army Cantonment, and further towards the airport and Indira Bridge.
Authorities have advised commuters to follow the diversion routes and plan their travel accordingly, as traffic congestion is expected in several parts of the city during the closure period.
