Several Indigo flights cancelled in Gujarat, passengers stranded in four major cities

Flight operations of Indigo Airlines remained disrupted for the fourth consecutive day across airports in Gujarat, leaving thousands of passengers stranded. Battling internal airline issues, Indigo cancelled several flights operating from Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat, causing passengers to lose patience.
At Ahmedabad airport, angry passengers created an uproar and shouted slogans such as “Indigo chor hai, murdabad”. Heated arguments were witnessed between passengers and airline staff. Passengers alleged that the airline failed to provide timely and proper information.
Due to the ongoing crisis at Indigo over the past four days, the flight schedule across the state has been severely affected. At Ahmedabad airport, passengers who had been waiting for their flights for 12 hours were informed at the last moment that their flights had been cancelled or delayed, creating a tense situation. In Vadodara, the cancellation of four key flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Goa triggered chaos among travellers.
A total of eight Indigo flights were cancelled in Rajkot, too, including three to Mumbai, two to Delhi and one each to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Goa. In Surat as well, the morning flight arriving from Hyderabad was cancelled and another had to be diverted. Later in the afternoon, flights arriving from Bengaluru, Jaipur, Goa and Kolkata had no fixed schedule, resulting in disruption of return flights as well.

As of now, Indigo has not provided any clarity on when this disruption caused by a staff shortage will be resolved, leaving passengers extremely frustrated.
IndiGo had attributed the chaos to a pilot shortage compounded by winter-schedule pressures. The airline has requested partial relaxations of the new Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms to stabilise operations, noting that full implementation is expected only by February 2026.
