Trouble at Seventh Day School again, Class 7 monitor assaulted with blade by 3 students

The Khokhra police have registered a complaint after a Class 7 student, who was serving as a class monitor, was allegedly assaulted and threatened by three fellow students inside a government-run Seventh Day Adventist School in Maninagar, police said on Thursday.
According police, the incident has its roots in a minor disciplinary issue during school dispersal on February 4. The complainant’s 12-year-old son, a student of Seventh Day Adventist School, had been assigned the duty of ensuring that students left the school premises in an orderly line after classes ended around 12.30 pm.
The FIR states that when three students, refused to walk in line, the monitor asked them to stand aside. This reportedly led to a heated exchange, during which the three allegedly quarrelled with the monitor and issued threats. Later, while standing near the bicycle parking area, the trio allegedly warned the boy that they would “settle scores the next day” and threatened to kill him.
The matter escalated on February 5 when, at around 1.30 pm, the boy stepped out of his classroom to use the washroom. As per the complaint, two of them followed him, with one allegedly grabbing him by the collar and threatening him. The other is accused of pulling out a blade, slashing the lower part of the boy’s shirt and breaking its buttons, while warning him of dire consequences if he repeated his actions as a monitor. The boy was also allegedly punched on the face and nose.
The victim later informed his family, following which his father, Pravesh Kumar, an admin manager in Vinzol, approached the Khokhra police station and filed a formal complaint.
Police officials said the FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS pertaining to criminal intimidation and causing hurt. The investigation has been started and statements of the victim, witnesses and school staff are being recorded.
School authorities have been informed of the incident, and police said they will also examine the school’s internal handling of student discipline. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation, officials added.
