Another reshuffle of seven IAS officers in Gujarat

The Gujarat government announced another reshuffle of IAS officers on June 21. A total of seven administrative officials have been transferred, out of whom five have been given additional charges. These include revenue, finance, urban development department and ports.  

Additional charges in revenue department: 

Kamal Dayani, additional chief secretary (ACS), revenue, who had the charge of general administration department (GAD) will now be ACS of GAD.  

Manoj Kumar Das, a 1990-batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer, is transferred to the additional chief secretary (ACS) of the Revenue Department. He would retain the post-ACS, Ports, and Transport Department.

Two women among today’s reshuffle

IAS Mona Khandhar is transferred and appointed as principal secretary of Governments, Panchayats, Rural Housing & Rural Development Department. Khandhar would hold additional charge of the post of revenue inspection commissioner & ex-officio principal secretary of the Revenue Department.

Her junior, Arti Kanwar, resident commissioner to the government of Gujarat in New Delhi, will replace Khandhar in the finance department. Kanwar will hold her original post until further orders.

GMB officials Rathore and Rajkumar

A day after SS Rathore’s appointment as chairman of the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB), Rajkumar Beniwal was appointed as vice chairman and CEO of the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB). He would continue to serve as commissioner of municipal administration and ex-officio managing director of Gujarat Urban Development Company Ltd.

Other additional changes 

Ashwani Kumar, a 1997-batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer who served as the then chief minister Vijay Rupani’s secretary, has been appointed principal secretary at the Urban Development Department (UDD). He has also been given additional charge of his original position as principal secretary to the Sports, Youth, and Cultural Activities Department.

Manish Bhardwaj, a 1997-batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer, has been appointed CEO of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA) in addition to his duties as principal secretary of the Narmada, Water Resources, and Water Supply departments.
