Seven drown in Narmada river near Gujarat’s Poicha

In a tragic turn of events, eight people, including three children, reportedly drowned in the Narmada river near the religious site of Poicha.

The locals saved one youth, and the search for the others is underway.


The initial reports suggest that the pilgrims were native to Amreli and were residing in Surat.

The family had plans to visit the Swaminarayan temple and other religious places near Poicha village in the Narmada district and had gone to bathe in the Narmada river.

Poicha, 60 km away from Vadodara and 80 km from Bharuch, is known for the Swaminarayan temple on the banks of river Narmada.
