A 21-year-old security guard was stabbed during a violent altercation outside the LIC Staff Colony at Bimanagar in Satellite on Sunday evening, following a dispute linked to a previous employment rivalry. Satellite police have registered an FIR against four persons, all of whom were reportedly working as security guards, according to officials.

The incident occurred around 5.30 pm on December 28 on the public road near Gate No. 3 of the LIC Staff Colony in Bimanagar. The injured has been identified as Anand Kumar, a resident of Vasna, who was on duty as a security guard at the premises.

The complaint was lodged by Ankit Singh (26), also a security guard employed with a private agency, who stated that the clash stemmed from an old dispute with his former supervisor, Vikas Rathod. Rathod, accompanied by Mangal Yadav, Monu Yadav and Dilip Padhiyar, allegedly arrived at the spot and began abusing Ankit Singh, leading to a heated argument.

Police said that when Anand Kumar intervened to defuse the situation, two of the accused allegedly pulled out knives. While Ankit Singh managed to move away, Anand Kumar had reportedly been attacked and stabbed on his left hand and both legs, sustaining injuries to the lower part of his body. The other accused allegedly assisted in the assault and also attempted to beat the victim with sticks, the FIR stated.

Following the attack, the four accused fled the scene. Anand Kumar was rushed on a motorcycle to J S Hospital near Shivranjani, where he was admitted to the emergency ward and is currently undergoing treatment.

Satellite police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Statements of witnesses, including another security guard present at the spot, are expected to be recorded.

Police officials said further legal action will be taken based on medical reports and findings during the investigation.
