Security beefed up amid Cricket World Cup final in Ahmedabad
A total of 4,000 police and security agency personnel will be deployed at the stadium

As Ahmedabad is about to witness the much-awaited historic World Cup final on Nov 19, security has been beefed up around Narendra Modi Stadium and at major spots in the city.
This time, the security is tighter than in the India Vs Pakistan match, which was on Oct 15, officials said.
Proper crowd management is planned to avoid any kind of stampede, and the audience can reach their seats without any hassle. A special police control room has been designated, and the audience will be under strict surveillance from the camera.

The police will also covertly keep a watch on every movement. Areas adjoining the ground and VVIP block will be secured to avoid any kind of interaction with the spectators.
One police sub-inspector (PSI) along with six other police personnel will be deployed at each block in the stadium.
With a three-layer security system including police personnel, crime branch, anti-terrorism squad (ATS), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Rapid Action Force (RAF), and State Reserve Police (SRP), the city will be under tight surveillance. A total of 1,000 personnel will be deployed including NRDF, SRP, RAF, anti-drone, and home guards.

A total of 4,000 police and security agency personnel will be deployed inside the stadium. A total of 300 personnel of the crime branch will be deployed at the stadium.
Taking into consideration the victory of India, a total of 10,000 police personnel will be deployed in the city to make sure that celebrations on the roads do not turn into stampedes.
A total of 100 convoys of traffic police will be deployed in the city to manage the rush and traffic due to diversions. As a number of guests and dignitaries arrive at the airport for the match, traffic police and other security personnel will escort them to the stadium.

Parking and metro rush
Despite 15 plots being allotted for parking 22,250 vehicles, Ahmedabad metro trains will witness a rush. Stadium parking will be allotted to park 1,100 vehicles of guests and dignitaries. Moreover, for the audience, in the proximity of 2 km, 13 parking plots will be allotted to park 15,000 two-wheelers and 11 parking plots for 7,250 cars.
