Under the motive of the Government of India, ‘Viksitbharat@47’, a mock youth parliament was organised by the department of youth, sports, and culture of the Gujarat government in Gandhinagar's Mahatma Mandir.

The parliament was attended by 550 students from various 83 universities in Gujarat after screening by a jury, and was joined by the minister of state, Harsh Sanghavi, and BJP’s state president, CR Patil.

Patil addressed the students taking part in the youth parliament in his speech. He said if you want to enter politics, first of all, you have to be financially secure so that you can serve the people.

“In politics, you have to work 24/7,. Before entering politics, one should manage the financial accruals. In politics, one has to work 24/7 hours, and one should not feel that they can do something else along with it.” he added, indicating that politics is a full-time job.

He added that one should not come into politics with speculations and imaginations.

Speaking about changing politics in various states, he said in states like UP, Bihar, the caste-based voting has stopped. Work on merit is essential. One should be patient, and should work hard.

“If the target is to work for the people, there are 180 schemes of prime minister Narendra Modi. Take the information from these schemes and help people with the schemes of the government to become a leader in your area,” he said.

Minister of state for youth, sports, and culture Harsh Sanghavi encouraged students in his opening speech that, far from party politics, as citizens, it is the duty of all of us to follow our responsibility, and change should start with us, from our family, from our friends circle, and lastly, it reaches the country.

Sanghvi also showed a video clip of a South Korean movie in which a pair of physically handicapped students are together enjoying victory.

Students from various universities attended the event and discussed issues like Article 370, artificial intelligence, and the economic aspects of the Ayodhya temple.
