The Sudarshan Setu in Gujarat’s Dwarka, a bridge built at a cost of ₹900 crore and inaugurated in February this year, is ridden with potholes and is rusting at places after the first rain.

Photos and videos that surfaced on social media show the poor condition of the bridge adjoining Okha and Beyt Dwarka in Devbhumi Dwarka district after heavy rains.

The continuous rainfall over the past five days in Dwarka has caused multiple potholes on the Sudarshan Setu and railings have started rusting.

According to reports, the authorities have begun repair work of the potholes.

Sudarshan Setu spans 2.32 kilometres and includes a 900-metre central double-span cable-stayed portion that connects the mainland of Okha with the island of Beyt Dwarka.

The construction of the Sudarshan Setu was constructed by S P Singla Construction Pvt Ltd.
