RPO Ahmedabad introduces new appointment and walk-in arrangements from Jan 2026

To ease the process for passport applicants and ensure faster disposal of pending cases, the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Ahmedabad, located at University Road, Gulbai Tekra, has announced new arrangements for public facilitation, which will come into effect from January 1, 2026.
Under the new system, the office will issue 100 online appointments on all working days for applicants seeking inquiries related to pending passport applications or for submission of documents. Applicants can pre-schedule their visit as per their preferred date and time.
In addition, passport applicants will be allowed to visit the RPO without prior appointment on every Monday and Wednesday (except on holidays) between 10 am and 1 pm for inquiries or submission of documents.
Applicants can also inquire about the status of their passport applications through alternative channels, including telephone at 079-26300603, email at rpo.ahmedabad@mea.gov.in, and on X (formerly Twitter) via the official handle @rpoahmedabad.
The RPO has advised applicants to carry all necessary original documents while visiting the office for inquiries or submission of documents.
