A meeting of the officials of various departments of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) was held in Ahmedabad amid rising temperatures. The municipal commissioner, M Thennarasan, was upset with the health department official regarding the implementation of the heatwave action plan.

When the health officer presented the statistics before him, the commissioner said, "Don't present the statistics to me, put them daily on social media for the people of Ahmedabad to keep them updated."  

The municipal commissioner was dissatisfied when the health department official started the presentation of the statistical details about the fountains operational in the city.

Coming down heavily on the officials, he asked, "What is new in this? Why is there no action plan about the heatwaves?"

The officials were reportedly sent to Italy to understand the heat management better, however, dissatisfied with their reports, the municipal commissioner had to ask what was the purpose behind sending the officials to Italy in the first place since they could not work on an action plan.

Moreover, he also talked about the pending work of road resurfacing in the city, which currently stands at 25%. The work was halted due to the Holi festivities, however, the commissioner instructed the authorities to complete it before the end of May.
