Rajkot range raids illegal mining in Surendranagar, property worth ₹2.50 crore seized

The Rajkot Range team has carried out a major raid against illegal mining in Surendranagar district. During the operation, officials uncovered illegal mineral mining on government land near Gundiyavada village in Sayla taluka and seized machinery and vehicles worth around ₹2.50 crore.
According to officials, illegal mining was being carried out on government wasteland without any permission. During the raid, the team seized three excavators and four dumpers from the site.
All seven vehicles, along with other seized items worth around ₹2.50 crore, have been shifted to the Surendranagar Mines and Minerals Office for further investigation. The case has now been handed over to the Mines and Minerals Department.
Initial information suggests that a man identified as Gabru Mogal is the main accused in the illegal mining operation. Further investigation is underway to find out if others were also involved.
The raid has also raised several questions about the local administration and the Mines and Minerals Department. Since the alleged illegal mining was taking place openly on government land using heavy machinery, questions are being raised about how it continued without coming to the notice of the concerned authorities.
The action has created a stir in the area, and the investigation is expected to reveal more details in the coming days.
