Rajkot man dies by suicide, note alleges blackmail and harassment by eight individuals

A middle-aged man from Hodthali village in Rajkot taluka allegedly died by suicide after allegedly facing prolonged harassment and blackmail. The deceased, identified as Haribhai Jadav, was found hanging at his residence, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to police sources, Haribhai left behind a suicide note in which he named two neighbours, Nareshbhai and Ravjibhai, along with six other individuals. In the note, he alleged that the accused had obtained compromising photographs of him and were threatening to circulate them on social media. The note further claimed that the group had been demanding ₹20 lakh and had subjected him to continuous mental harassment.
Family members told investigators that Haribhai had discussed the alleged blackmail with his son and had expressed concern over the pressure he was facing. He had reportedly suggested selling family land to arrange the money allegedly being demanded.
Following the incident, Haribhai's body was sent to Rajkot Civil Hospital for postmortem and forensic examination. Based on the contents of the suicide note, police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Further legal action is being taken to identify and apprehend those named in the allegations.
Police have stated that the allegations mentioned in the suicide note are being verified as part of the ongoing investigation.
