After Ahmedabad and Vadodara, Rajkot too gets a woman mayor

After the appointment of new officials in Ahmedabad and Vadodara municipal corporations on Sept 11, two big cities in Saurashtra announced their mayor, deputy mayor, standing committee chairperson, and leaders of the ruling party today.

Nayana Pedhadiya was appointed as the new mayor of Rajkot. Narendra Singh Jadeja was elected as her deputy. 

Jaymin Thakar was appointed chairperson of the standing committee of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC).

Moreover, Leelu Jadhav will be the leader of the ruling party.

Jamnagar’s new mayor

As the terms of the current officials in Jamnagar municipality came to an end, the ruling party announced Vinodbhai Khimsuriya as the new mayor of Jamnagar for two-and-a-half-year. Krishnaben Sodha was elected as his deputy. 

After speculations of various names, Nilesh Kagathara, a corporator of ward no 9 was appointed as the chairperson of the standing committee of the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC).

Ashish Joshi, a corporator of ward no 5, has been designated as the leader of the ruling party, and ward no 13’s Ketanbhai Jayantilal has been appointed as the whip.

On Sept 11, Pratibha Jain was appointed as mayor of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) got Pinki Soni in the office as the mayor.
