Rajkot fire tragedy: Fact-finding committee presents report in Gujarat High Court

The three-member fact-finding committee today submitted a report to the Gujarat High Court, giving a clean chit to two former Rajkot municipal commissioners Amit Arora and Anand Patel.

Following the high court’s order, the government formed a fact-finding committee including Manisha Chandra, P Swarup, and Rajkumar Beniwal to take serious measures.

The report clearly states that the authority to demolish illegal constructions had been assigned to the town planning branch years ago, absolving the two municipal commissioners of any responsibility.

The report also exonerated four other officials who were present at the TRP Game Zone in a birthday party celebration.
