Rajkot BJP district president, others accused of siphoning ₹4.28 crore through investment scam

A serious allegation has surfaced against Rajkot district BJP president Alpesh Govindbhai Dholariya, two BJP office-bearers, and two associates, accused of duping a local businessman of ₹4.28 crore under the guise of high-return investments. The complaint has been filed by Mahesh Nanji Hirpara before the Rajkot Police Commissioner, with copies sent to the Chief Minister and state BJP president.

The accused include

 – Alpesh Dholariya (District BJP President & Gondal Market Yard Chairman)

 – Darpan Barasiya (District BJP Executive Member)

 – Gautam Barasiya (Yuva BJP Vice-President)

 – Paresh Dobariya

 – Sandeep Sekhaliya

According to the complaint, the accused approached Hirpara through a Mumbai-based associate, promising high profits through stock market and cryptocurrency investments. Initially, the complainant invested ₹8 lakh. Later, he was told that investing $1 million (≈₹8 crore) would fetch a 10% return in just two days.

Trusting the promise, Hirpara arranged ₹4,28,46,000 from relatives and handed the amount over on 8 April 2025 near the US Embassy/BKC area in Mumbai.

However, when returns did not materialize, the complainant says he was called to the office of “R.K. Prime,” where he was allegedly threatened. The BJP district president reportedly warned him that they had “strong influence in the BJP and police” and that if he asked for his money back, his “hands and legs would be broken.”

Hirpara has demanded that police register an FIR and initiate legal action.
