Rajasthan man booked for alleged stalking, threats and fake social media profile

A woman has lodged a complaint at Ahmedabad airport police station against a Rajasthan resident alleging that he threatened her, pressured her into maintaining a relationship and marriage, and created a fake social media account in her name to damage her reputation.

The accused, identified as Arvindsinh Narayansinh Kumpavat, a resident of Housing Board Colony in Govardhan Vilas, Udaipur, originally from Ankadavas village in Pali district of Rajasthan, was allegedly in a relationship with the complainant.

The woman alleged that when she refused to continue the relationship, the accused began threatening and intimidating her in an attempt to force her to maintain the relationship and marry him. She further alleged that the accused created a fake social media profile in her name and uploaded photographs of them together in an attempt to tarnish her image and reputation.

The complainant also alleged that the accused made threatening phone calls not only to her but also to her parents and brother, during which he allegedly abused and threatened to kill them.

An airport police official said a complaint has been registered and further investigation is under way into the allegations.
