Amid the intense heat and humidity that gripped Gujarat throughout May, the state witnessed a sudden change in weather today (May 30). As per forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of the Aravalli and Mahisagar regions received rainfall, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching heat.

A noticeable change in weather was witnessed across the Aravalli district. Several areas, including the pilgrimage town of Shamlaji, as well as Modasa, Malpur and Bhiloda talukas, received rainfall from the early hours of the morning.

Rainfall was also reported in rural areas such as Vasherekampa and Sunokh in Bhiloda, along with Isrol, Jitpur and Jivanpur in the Modasa belt. The showers brought much-needed relief from the intense heat and humidity, lowering temperatures and creating a cooler atmosphere across parts of North Gujarat.

Dark clouds hovered over Mahisagar district from early morning, followed by unseasonal rainfall in parts of the district. Light showers were reported in rural areas, including Khanpur, Santrampur and the Kadana-Godhra belt, as cloudy conditions persisted across the region.
