Railway server crash leaves passengers stranded, long queues at reservation counters in Ahmedabad

Passengers across Ahmedabad faced major inconvenience on Tuesday afternoon after the railway ticket-booking server went down for nearly two hours, bringing all reservation activities to a halt.
Long queues formed at reservation counters at Kalupur railway station, as people waited in frustration to book their tickets.
The outage occurred around 1 pm, disrupting both online and offline booking systems. Commuters attempting to book tickets via mobile phones, computers, or reservation counters were left helpless as transactions repeatedly failed.
The server failure also affected crucial backend operations, including the preparation of train charts, causing further delays.
Railway officials later confirmed that a technical glitch in the IRCTC system between 1 pm and 3 pm had triggered the breakdown, resulting in a complete halt in the ticket-booking process.
